Position Overview – Early-Stage Collections

As an Early-Stage Collections Representative, you will engage with customers who have delinquent accounts, negotiate payment arrangements, and maintain accurate records—all while delivering exceptional customer service. This role plays a key part in helping customers get back on track and supporting MEI’s overall collections performance.


Compensation, Schedule & Incentives

  • Hourly Rate: $17.00/hour

  • Incentives: Weekly cash bonuses based on performance

  • Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday & every other Saturday | 8-hour day shifts

  • Bonus: $500 sign-on bonus

What You'll Do

  • Initiate contact with customers who have delinquent accounts to collect past-due payments

  • Negotiate effective payment arrangements and maintain detailed documentation

  • Monitor and manage assigned accounts to meet daily, weekly, and monthly collection goals

  • Update and verify customer account information and demographics

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and all federal and state regulations


What You Bring

  • Minimum 1 year of collections experience (auto collections preferred)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Goal-oriented with high accuracy and attention to detail

  • Knowledge of FDCPA and related collection practices


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to work every other Saturday

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer/phone

  • Must pass a background check and be authorized to work in the U.S.
