Senior Auto Collections Manager – MEI Auto Finance
MEI Auto Finance is seeking an experienced Senior Auto Collections Manager to lead our high-performance collections team. This role is responsible for driving strategy, coaching supervisors, and ensuring strict adherence to compliance and company policies. The Senior Collections Manager oversees performance in cash collections, delinquency control, repossessions, loss mitigation, and customer retention.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of collections leadership in auto finance or consumer lending (Buy Here Pay Here experience strongly preferred), a proven track record of reducing delinquency, strong knowledge of FDCPA and repossession processes, and the ability to build high-performing teams.

Position Overview
As a Senior Collections Manager at MEI Auto Finance, you set the standard for execution and accountability. In a high-performance culture, you drive strategy, coach supervisors and teams, and ensure strict adherence to company policies, KPIs, and compliance requirements. Your leadership directly influences cash collections, delinquency control, repossession outcomes, loss mitigation, and customer retention.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
•Lead supervisors and collections agents, driving performance through coaching, clear expectations, and accountability.
• Develop and execute strategies to reduce delinquency, improve cure rates, and minimize charge-offs.
• Ensure immediate adoption of all new policies, scripts, and process changes.
Performance Oversight
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, including cash collections, delinquency, roll rates, repo counts, QA compliance, and charge-offs.
• Deliver scorecards, conduct performance reviews, and implement corrective action as needed.
• Identify performance gaps proactively and lead targeted improvement initiatives.
Compliance & Process Execution
• Ensure all collections activity complies with FDCPA, TCPA, repossession policy (Repo BOP), and internal standards.
• Audit supervisor queues, escalate accounts when necessary, and apply solution-focused judgment.
• Partner with Service, Insurance, QA, Training, Recovery, and Originations to maintain full departmental alignment.
Customer & Team Engagement
• Handle escalated customer issues, negotiating resolutions aligned with company goals.
• Mentor supervisors, building leadership skills and reinforcing MEI’s standards of urgency, professionalism, and tone.
• Foster a culture of high performance built on trust, accountability, and measurable results.
Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of collections leadership experience in auto finance or consumer lending.
• Buy Here Pay Here (BHPH) experience strongly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of FDCPA, repossession processes, and bankruptcy law.
• Proven track record of reducing delinquency, managing repossessions, and enforcing high-performance standards.
• Strong communication, coaching, and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and collections performance systems.
Employment Requirements
• Background check and U.S. work authorization required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Full-time, Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays and flexibility for extended hours.
